A graduation ceremony  was held for the second batch of Al Sham  Private University students ASPU  at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, under the patronage  of the Baath Party assistant secretary general  Hial al-Hilal. It was attended by member of  the party central command Dr. Mohsen Bilal.

Some 79 students  were given graduation certificates from the faculties of law and administrative sciences, information engineering and international relations and diplomacy.

In a speech,  Dr.  Bilal, stressed that the most successful investment is the investment in science . He  congratulated the graduate students , their families and ASPU staff for their efforts.

 He also congratulated all those who contributed to the building and upholding of scientific achievements  excellence in science , coupled with  the sacrifice of our martyrs and our heroes with the victory led by President Bashar Al-Assad, hoping that ASPU will achieve the goals on the ground of  which it was founded.

For his part, ASPU president, Dr. Yasser Houriya, noted ASPU efforts made  in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education by providing teaching, technical and administrative staff in order to provide the educational process due needs and implement the study plans , enabling  students to achieve their dream.

Dr. Houriya  talked about  ASPU special infrastructure of  halls of classrooms, and headquarters distributed in Damascus and Lattakia,  and very advanced scientific equipment and laboratories .

 He indicated that  Board of Trustees of the University decided to allocate one percent of the university's net profit to support scientific research, and that, as a result,  more than 14 research have been published in external scientific journals, noting the decision of the Board of Trustees in capitalizing the university's profits in favor of its development.

In turn, the head of SSPU branch of the National Union of Syrian Students (NUSS) spoke about students role  in contributing to building their country through continuous educational achievement. He talked about the role of the NUSS branch in activating the role of students in various educational and national initiatives and scientific and cultural activities, in parallel with the Syrian army sacrifices.

On behalf of the graduate students , first outstanding graduate Malaka Qasem expressed thanks to the President and the  party’s leadership[ for ensuring the  success of ASPU, its teaching staff and all other partners  who contributed to its success.

The graduation ceremony was attended by member of the party ‘s Central Committee and  Minister of Higher Education Dr. Atef al-Nadaf , member of the NUSS executive bureau  Darin Suleiman, and  members of the party branches  leadership and ASPU teaching staffs and families of the graduate students .

At the end of the ceremony,  graduation certificates were distributed on  graduate students

and ASPU musical band  performed several  national songs , whereas traditional artistic dances were performed by Gelnnar  troupe.

The audience were  impressed by this great event and expressed ASPU further development and success in its scientific process.
