A special ceremony was held on Monday 18/02/2019 at the premises of ASPU during which it the ISO 9001 certificate, thus ASPU becomes the first private university in Syria to implement the quality management system, taking a step towards implementing the quality system of academic performance. Such a move would avail ASPU the chance to be listed among world prestigious universities.

The ceremony was attended by, Deputy Higher Education Minister for Private Education Affairs, Dr. Boutros Maiyala on behalf of Minister of Higher Education Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, member of the Executive bureau  of the National Union of Syrian Students (NUSS) Ms. Darin Suleiman, who is also  head of the Higher Education and Informatics Offices,  auditors accredited by the British Qualitas Certification LTD,  Arab quality makers, academic quality figures and ambassadors, faculty deans, teaching staff, ASPU administrative  staff and students.

During  the ceremony of handing over the certificate, Professor Mohamed Al-Jalali delivered  the ISO certificate to Dr. Yasser Hourieh ASPU President. The certificate provides an international experience in Quality Management Systems in Higher Education from Qualitas - UK and a Certified Arab Consultant and Expert accredited by  Arab Quality Makers.

Then ASPU president presented  Dr. Tayseer Al-Masri the shield of the university in recognition of his direct supervision and his great efforts in achieving the quality management system and its auditing and its contribution to the achievement of the ISO 9001. He also awarded the Arab quality expert Rima Bayazid for  her contribution to Quality management system in accordance with standard 9001. Shields were also presented to members of the quality  members and quality  ambassadors teams .
