At the directives of ASPU President Dr.  Sharif Al-Ashkar, and in line with the  policy of the Syrian government,  provides for activating the virtual induction course for the launch of the Arab-International Classification project held by the Association of Arab Universities, ASPU  Vice-President of the Council Scientific research Dr. Khaled Al-Homsi on , October 31 attended the  virtual introductory workshop entitled "The Arab Classification Project for Universities - Standards and Indicators", held in Amman, via the interactive Zoom platform, with representatives of  several  Syrian and Arab universities.

 The workshop aims to improve the outcomes of higher education and scientific research so as enable it lead Arab development.

This classification depends on accuracy and objectivity through several indicators and criteria by which the comprehensive tasks of the university are evaluated, such as the quality of education, teaching, scientific research, innovations, international and local cooperation and community service.

The workshop also deals with the basic criteria that universities must meet to be included in the classification, and the four indicators for evaluating the Arab classification of universities.

Worthy mentioning  that ASPU  has been always  striving to adopt the best international practices to develop the quality of scientific, academic and research performance in line with the dynamic regional changes.
