With the aim of opening union units in ASPU and its faculties, Head of the Teachers Union (TU) of the Damascus University branch, Dr. Youssef al-Marzouki, has met with university deans of faculties, heads of directorates, and employees in the presence of ASPU President Dr. Yasser Hourieh.

Dr. Hourieh pointed advantages offered by the TU to its subscribing members, stressing ASPU endeavor to secure best gains for its employees in order to motivate them to provide the best administrative quality performance.

For his part, Dr. al- Marzouki gave a definition of the TU, the conditions for its membership, the social assistance it provides by the Emergency Fund, the end of service, immediate assistance upon death, and the retirement fund, which provides teachers with a retirement salary from the TU amounting to 25% of the basic salary.

al -Marzouki answered all  questions about the Union's  affiliation conditions and the deductions that the university’s staff  and their children receive in public and private universities.
