ASPU- Bright Inventors Organization Memorandum of Understanding Signed

ASPU President Dr. Sharif Al-Ashkar, and representative of the Bright Inventors Organization, Dr. Houda Zakaria, have signed a memorandum of understanding, in the presence of representative of the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Shafik al-Ali, and university deans.

The memorandum provides that ASPU and a “Bright Inventors” team to organize a scientific course entitled (Bright Inventors 2 at ASPU) with the aim of training public and private universities students in Syria to develop their innovative ideas so as to become real and tangible patents and then to register these inventions, officially in the Syrian Patent Office at the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection.

According to the memorandum, a registration form will be opened to receive ideas that will be studied by a scientific committee to select the best 60 ideas, and then train the accepted students on how to develop the best 30 selected ideas, which, in turn, will be provided with necessary tools for making prototypes for inventions and completing registration procedures.

The memorandum also stipulates that the university students specialization is taken into consideration in order to be able to cover the largest possible number of public and private universities in Syria in various specializations, taking into account the fact that one-third of accepted students will be from ASPU its various specializations, as it is the course‘s academic partner and incubator.
