ASPU Receives Azad University Delegation, Iran

ASPU President Dr. Sharif Al-Ashkar, has received a delegation representing the Islamic Azad University in Iran to activate memorandum of understanding signed between the two universities, at the university's headquarters in Baramkeh.

Dr. Al-Ashkar and president of the Iranian Azad University Javad Sadri Mehr, discussed ways to activate the memorandum of understanding and follow what has been implemented in terms of scientific and cultural cooperation areas...

Dr. Al-Ashqar shed light on the importance of ASPU, compares with the country’s private and public universities, noting readiness  to cooperate with Islamic Azad University for serving mutual benefits.

For his part, the Iranian official noted the most important thing that distinguishes his university among the universities in the Islamic Republic of Iran, noting its common issues of interest with ASPU, stressing readiness to provide all facilities to support this cooperation.

The two sides stated proposals that would contribute to enhance mutual cooperation on the scientific and cultural sides, especially scientific exchange of professors and students between the two universities, and the establishment of short-term training courses to develop technical and scientific skills that help students find job opportunities. Also proposed was the establishment of a joint technical development and innovation center between the two universities at ASPU in order to exchange knowledge and experiences, while other proposals were adopted to help transform science into wealth, technical products and implementable projects.

Participants in the meeting discussed many topics that are in the interest of the two universities and suggested ways to develop the educational process, embrace students' ideas and projects to become feasible on the ground, link the academic aspect to the labor market, and mix scientific, research and technical expertise between the two countries so as to reach excellence.

Concluding the meeting, ASPU president thanked the Iranian side of thanks for the provided information and answers to the inquiries put by ASPU deans of the faculties.
