Faculty of International Relations and Diplomacy Students Participate in the Round Table Discussion at the Syrian International Academy

At the directives of ASPU President Dr. Sharif Al-Ashkar, and supervision of Dr. Hussein Maklled, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Diplomacy, students of the Faculty of International Relations and Diplomacy visited the Syrian International Academy on Monday October 11.

The students attended a round table discussion presented by Mr. Mahinder Singh Kanyal, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of India in Damascus, under the title "India on its 75th Independence Anniversary & Indo-Syrian Relations".

The ambassador reviewed the history of Indian civilization its contributions to human civilization in various fields. He also spoke about the integrated efforts made by the Indian government and people in addressing the Corona epidemic.

On the Syrian-Indian relations, he described these relations as historical that date back to the era of King Ashawqa, noting that the first university opened in India had received Syrian students.

He also noted the continued Indo-Syrian relations, stressing that opportunities and projects are existed, to develop and expand bilateral relations between the two countries for the present and the future, alike.

This visit comes in line with the university's objectives to link the practical and theoretical sides in the teaching process with the aim of enriching and raising the level of students' educational attainment.
