ASPU Faculty of International Relations and Diplomacy Students Visit Syrian International Academy

Under the guidance of ASPU President Dr. Sharif Al-Ashkar, and supervision of Dr. Hussein Makkaled, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Diplomacy faculty students visited the Syrian International Academy, on 23 /9/2021.

The students participated in the round table discussion presented by Sebastian Zavala, Argentina Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassador in Damascus, who answered questions raised on the “Malvinas issue”.

The Ambassador spoke in details about the Malvinas Islands, starting with the dispute over the naming and eviction of the islands from its Argentinian residents, to filing this issue to international arbitration, so as to take a legal dimension, especially after the establishment of the United Nations General Assembly, which dealt with issue, according to the principles of the right to self-determination, unity and integrity lands, and issued several resolutions to this end.

“The Malvinas Islands question” means the dispute between Argentina and the United Kingdom over the sovereignty of the Malvinas Islands including, the South Georgia Islands, the South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime areas.

This visit comes in the course of ASPU objectives in linking the practical side with the theoretical side in the teaching process with the aim of enriching and raising the level of students' educational achievements.
