Under the patronage of its president Dr. Sharif al-Ashkar, , and in cooperation of university branch of the NUSS, ASPU made a visit to the Planning and International Cooperation Commission in order to know about mechanisms of the Commission’s work in the fields of planning and international cooperation.
The students met with the commission president Dr. Fadi al-Khalil who spoke about the tasks and mechanisms of the commission's work, as well as with Fadlallah Gharz El-Din, the commission’s deputy chairman for Planning affairs, and Dr. Thuraya Idlibi, the Deputy Chairman for International Cooperation.
The commission and his deputies spoke about the commission‘s most important functions, including study and analysis of the Syrian economic, social and environmental conditions, highlighting weaknesses and strengths, following up regional and international developments, and identifying the direction of those developments and their reflection on the Syrian economy, with the aim to adopt measures and programs to guarantee dealing with negative effects.
Noteworthy , the state planning commission is considered the official international cooperation window between the Syrian Arab Republic and the outside world, and the approved reference in all matters related to non-political, security and military cooperation with countries, regional groups, regional and international financial organizations and institutions, and the only channel of communication through which people correspondence with Arab and foreign countries, regional groups, regional and international organizations and financial institutions are addressed .
The students were accompanied by faculty dean Dr. Hussein Mukled.
ASPU administration extends thanks to the Planning and International Cooperation commission for the good reception and affection provided to students, wishing it continued progress and success.
