ASPU for Cooperation with  Russia Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University

Under the patronage of ASPU President Dr. Sharif Al-Ashkar, the university administration, in cooperation with the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus and St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (Polytechnic), organized a meeting to introduce St. Petersburg University and its graduate programs.

The meeting was attended by ASPU vice president Dr. Rania Al-Zarir, university deans and their deputies, Dr. Badi’ Misto, Secretary of the University’s party division, Majd Al-Hamad, head of the NUSS, University branch and several professors at the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus.

In a welcoming speech, Dr.  Al-Zarir indicated that the aim of signing a memorandum of understanding between the university and the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus is to open doors with Russian universities as means of mediation between the two sides, noting that that center provides all facilities, encouragement and support for our students, for serving the close and solid relations with Russia.

The professors at the University of Petersburg described their university as No. 1 among the technical universities to accommodate foreign students, and it is included in all international classifications. They added that the Petersburg university offers a wide range of study programs for foreign students in both the Russian and foreign languages, and there is a preparatory year for the student to join the university and learn Russian language, noting that a student can register at the university online by submitting educational documents through the website, and the university conducts a simple admission examination via the Internet, or through grants provided by the Russian Cultural Center.
