ASPU President Dr. Sharif al-Ashkar has chaired the seventy-first session of the University Council, at the university's permanent headquarters in Al-Tal.

Employee Majed Ahmed Tarkhoun, who works for the university central administration in Damascus was honored.
Topics of the council’s agenda included   discussions of proposals by the faculties in Damascus and Lattakia, and all the university’s activities during the last period were discussed.
The university president stressed providing all capabilities to carry out the required curriculum and prepare all facilities, halls, and needs for the final exam for the second semester scheduled for 7/7/2023.
He congratulated students of the Faculty of Dentistry for obtaining the first positions in the standardized medical exam,and commended the scientific activity that is held by the university for sixth-year students in the Faculty of Human Medicine, through lectures in all medical subjects, and students' preparations for the unified national exam.
