Prof. Dr. Abdul Monim Abdul Hafez
President of Al-Sham Private University

Dear colleagues, dear students, Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you, It is a great honor for me, at this blessed moment, to assume the presidency of Al-Sham Private University. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all of you — students, academics, and administrative staff — on the occasion of the victory of our blessed Syrian revolution, a revolution inscribed by our great people with their pure blood, and granted from their spirit and dignity, for the sake of building a free and honorable homeland.

Today, we all carry a great responsibility — the responsibility of building the human being, upholding knowledge, and preserving the principles of our glorious revolution. We believe that knowledge is the foundation for building a modern state and establishing strong institutions capable of facing challenges and achieving stability and sustainable development.

Our university, with its talents and capabilities, is now called upon to be a nurturing ground for preparing qualified human resources who will lead the process of reconstruction and contribute to the nation’s building with professionalism and competence.

The coming phase requires all of us to work in the spirit of teamwork and to promote a culture of excellence and innovation within a stimulating university environment. As part of our future vision, we have set clear goals that we strive to achieve, most notably:

  1. Developing academic programs that align with scientific and technological advancements and meet the needs of both local and international labor markets.

  2. Enhancing scientific research and innovation, and providing the necessary resources to advance knowledge production.

  3. Raising the university’s standing in global rankings, through academic and research excellence and active community engagement.

  4. Expanding local and international partnerships with reputable universities and institutions.

  5. Supporting and developing qualified human resources, including faculty members, staff, and students, through continuous training and exchange of expertise.

  6. Striving for Al-Sham Private University to be at the forefront of private universities in Syria and the region in terms of performance, innovation, and educational outcomes.

We believe that, with God’s will, Al-Sham Private University is capable of becoming a beacon of knowledge and freedom, steadfast in its values, open to global horizons, and confidently advancing toward leadership.

In conclusion, I pray that God grants us all success in fulfilling this responsibility and that we live up to the aspirations of our students and our nation.

Peace and blessings be upon you all.
